Coline Huger (1988) is a french artist, living and working in Nantes. After studying textile design at École Duperré (Paris, FR) and 2 years at La Briche, a pluridisciplinary collective based in Saint-Denis, Huger now leads an opened and free research, which can take the aspect of both an installation or an object with a specific interest on material and surface.
Usually working the wax straight forwardly, Coline put aside this two-dimensional format by producing from sculpted wax blocks, a series of containers and utensils. Seeking to deal with a raw appearance of the material, where the tool mark remains noticeable, she experienced the wax, its shape and its color, transposed into metal and glass, offering an archaic design of everyday objects.
